Datsun Cars History

There're 9 DATSUN car owner's & workshop service manuals PDF, electric wiring diagrams.

The beginning of the history of the Datsun automobile company should be attributed to 1911, when a small car company, Kwaishin-sha, was established.

Its chief engineer was M. Hashimoto, who created his first passenger car DAT-31 (DAT-GO) in 1914.

Soon after, the DAT-41 models and the upgraded DAT-51 come out.

The name of the DAT model was composed of the first letters of the names of the owners of the company: K. Den, R. Aoyama, M. Takeuchi.

In addition, the abbreviation DAT fully reflected the main goal of the company: it sought to create a Durable, Attractive and Trustworthy car.

And from Japanese, the word "dat" is translated as "agile, fast. "

In 1918, for the first time since its inception, the company changed its name to Kwaishinsha Motor Car Co.

Along with the production of passenger cars, it starts the production of trucks.

They are used not only for commercial but also for military purposes.

In 1925, the company was renamed again, registered as a limited liability company DAT Jidosha & Co.

In 1926, after its merger with Jitsuyo Jidosha, it changed its name again.

DAT Jidosha Seizo enters the Japanese car market. The new model of the company is Lila JC, a small car with a 495 cc engine.

1931 Tobata Casting Corporation absorbs DAT Jidosha Seizo. The Lila JC model is renamed Datson, which meant "son of DAT".

The Datson Type 10 and Datson Type 11 models enter the market.

However, in translation from Japanese, the word "son" could also be translated as "flaw, damage. "

And soon, in 1933, the car was named Datsun.

Since 1933, the company has been producing the Datsun Type 12 model, equipped with a 750 cc engine. cm.

However, in 1934, during the reorganization carried out by the Tobata Casting Corporation, Datsun becomes history. Instead, Nissan Motor appears.

Datsun as one of the integral brands of Nissan Motor

Since the formation of the Japanese company Nissan Motor, the Datsun brand has been going through hard times.

The new Datsun model, the Type 17 car, was released only in 1938, after which the company's plant in Yokohama was completely redesigned for the production of trucks for the needs of the army.

The resumption of production of Datsun passenger models is observed only in the early 1950s.

Since 1958 they have been exported to the United States of America.

Since 1962, Datsun has been supplied to European countries in parallel with Nissan.

In 1981, Nissan, in order to strengthen the position of its own brand, completely abandons the use of the Datsun mark.

In 2012, the Japanese concern decides to revive the Datsun brand.

It is planned that under this name inexpensive cars for developing countries will be produced.

First of all, the Datsun brand will be exported to Indonesia and India, to the CIS countries and South Africa.

Datsun on-DO sedan, Datsun mi-DO hatchback, Datsun GO hatchback and Datsun GO+ minivan became available to car enthusiasts.
