SAIC Maxus, one of the leading automakers in China, intends to present a new model range under which high-quality and expensive SUVs will be produced.

According to Chinese insiders, the line of such pickup trucks will be called “Interstellar”.

The presentation will take place against the backdrop of successful sales figures for SAIC Maxus over the past calendar year, when the Chinese corporation sold more than 190 thousand vehicles in China and approximately 220 thousand abroad, including in Europe.

These statistics include all purchased cars, both classic sedans and large trucks.

One of the main vehicles in the Interstellar lineup should be a futuristic pickup truck called GST, which should go on sale either towards the end of 2023 or, more likely, as early as 2024.

The GST concept car was first presented back in January at one of the exhibitions in Shanghai. It was there that they showed an approximate appearance of the car and announced its impressive characteristics and advanced technologies installed on board.

It was also revealed that it will be powered by specially designed batteries that will allow the vehicle to have a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.

Also, the SUV will have as many as four engines under the hood, which in total will be able to produce more than 1000 horsepower.

Visually, the GST concept is stylish and futuristic. The inside of the car is just as elegant and modern. The interior will be complemented by a large curved screen that stretches across the entire dashboard, providing an all-encompassing display for both driver and front seat passenger.

Apart from showcasing the GST concept, SAIC Maxus also showcased an SUV under its new 'Interstellar' brand.

Much more details are already known about him. Thus, the authoritative Chinese publication MIIT stated that there was evidence of the existence of three models in the new series, and all of them have short letter names, namely L, H and R.

In addition, it also became known that the conglomerate SAIC Maxus has filed a patent application for a pickup truck, which is directly related to the new line of premium electric SUVs.

The photographs of the patent show the car's interior design, which is similar to what the corporation showed in the GST concept.

There will also be a long display that can be used by both driver and passenger. This Interstellar SUV will be offered in two sizes.

The smaller one will boast the following dimensions: 5365 mm in length, 1900 in width and 1,792 in height with a wheelbase of 3,155 mm.

The second configuration has the following dimensions: 5680 mm in length, 1960 in width and 1809 in height. With a wheelbase of 3,470 mm, this version is even more spacious inside than the first.

It is known that in total the engine under the hood will be able to generate 103.5 kW of power.

According to authoritative publications, the energy consumption of a pickup truck will be 8.5 or 8.7 liters for every 100 kilometers, depending on the variation of the vehicle purchased.

There is no other information regarding the car yet. It is known that they will appear only after the release of the new product.

SAIC Maxus' entry into the electric SUV market with its new 'Interstellar' brand demonstrates the company's commitment to expanding its product range and tapping into the growing demand for utility vehicles.

With an emphasis on advanced technology, advanced battery systems and sleek design, SAIC Maxus aims to become an important part of the market with the launch of its range.

As the launch of the upscale pickup truck brand approaches, auto enthusiasts and everyday consumers are eagerly awaiting more details regarding high-quality and reliable SUVs.

SAIC Maxus is undoubtedly one of the most important players in the Chinese auto industry, and that is why everyone is waiting for the release of their electric vehicles.
