Guy Ligier had quite diverse interests, from playing rugby to the construction business and the production of microcars.

 

But his main passion was the race, in which he in 1957-1967. participated personally, and in 1976-1996. tried to make headway with his own Formula One team.

 

In 1971-1975. Ligier produced a sports coupe with a centrally located V6 engine from the Citroen SM, the Ligier JS2.

 

In 2008, Ligier acquired the Microcar division from boat manufacturer Bénéteau.

 

Since then, its main products have been electric cars and city cars with 2-cylinder diesel engines.

 

Jacques Nicolet's Onroak Automotive has been granted the right to build sports prototypes of the CN, LMP1, LMP2 and LMP3 classes under the Ligier brand.

 

The first in 2014 was created Ligier JS P2, which took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans.

 

After the death of Guy Ligier, the company was headed by his son Philippe.

 

For the 50th anniversary of the brand, Ligier and Onroak have developed a modern version of the Ligier JS2 sports car, certified for both public roads and competition in the FIA E II-SH class.

 

The car is equipped with a 3. 7-liter V6 engine with a capacity of 330 hp. and a 6-speed sequential gearbox.

 

The racing version of the JS2 R went on sale in 2018 for €89, 000.
