Aixam-MEGA is a French automotive industrial group.

It specializes in the production of subcompact cars, "light quadricycles" (which replaced motorized sidecars), which do not require a driver's license.

Manufactures passenger and commercial vehicles.

The production is located in the Rhone-Alpes region in the communes of Aix-les-Bains (Department of Savoie) and Chanas (Department of Isère). Cars are sold in Europe and North America.

The company was founded in 1983 to manufacture subcompact cars at the production base of the bankrupt Arola Company.

Cars were produced under the Aixam brand.

In 1992, the Mega brand appeared, which became the fourth French manufacturer of subcompact cars that do not require a driver's license.

In 2003, Mega completely revamped its lineup, targeting two largely underdeveloped market segments: compact ultra-light commercial vehicles and electric vehicles.

Production reached its largest volume in 2007 - 15, 500 cars were produced. In 2009, the number was reduced to 12, 000.

The company consists of two divisions producing cars under two brands: Aixam and Mega.

Under the Aixam brand, passenger subcompact cars are produced.

At the Paris Motor Show 2010, the company introduced the Impulsion series.

Under the Mega brand, commercial subcompact vehicles Mega Multitruck, a commercial electric vehicle Mega Worker, as well as a passenger electric vehicle Mega City (electric analogue of Aixam City) are produced.

In 2016, for the first time, an Aixam model was tested by the European independent crash test committee Euro NCAP.

As a result, the 2016 Aixam Crossover GTR only scored one star out of five, one of the worst results ever.
