Abarth is an Italian company founded by Carlo Abarth in 1949 in Turin.

Main activities: production of mufflers and exhaust pipes, racing cars, and since 1955 - modification of serial FIAT cars.

The company collaborated not only with the FIAT concern, but also with brands such as Alfa Romeo and SIMCA, developing racing versions of standard models.

But Abarth gained worldwide fame thanks to his tuning kits for the FIAT 500 and 600, which turned cheap small cars into racing cars.

In 22 years, Abarth set 7402 records, including 113 international and 5 world records, and produced three and a half million exhaust pipes for 345 different types of cars.

After the departure of Carlo Abarth, the company became part of the FIAT Corporation, but its structure and name remained unchanged. Abarth & C. continues to develop special editions of stock cars and manufacture exhaust pipes and accessories as well as rally cars.

Among the Abarth cars of the 70s. the most famous are the FIAT 124 Abarth with a 4-cylinder engine of 1756 cm3 and 126 hp. and the FIAT 131 Abarth, the most successful project in FIAT's rally program.

Revival of Abarth as a separate brand.

The charged FIAT Grande Punto Abarth became the first model, and in 2008 the company started tuning the new FIAT 500.

The Mirafiori complex in Turin houses the production department as well as the motorsport and design divisions.

Built in 8 months, the 23, 000 m2 building now employs more than 100 employees.

The Abarth racing team takes part in the rally with FIAT's special editions, the Abarth Grande Punto S2000 and Abarth 500 R3T.
