Perodua Cars History

There're 4 PERODUA car owner's & engine service repair manuals PDF, electric wiring diagrams.

The Perodua cars brand is almost unknown outside of its native Malaysia.

It was founded in 1992 and quickly took a leading position in the local market, and now the top three most popular cars in Malaysia carry the Perodua brand.

Until recently, the company produced only licensed copies of Daihatsu subcompacts (the Japanese own a 25% stake in the Malaysian manufacturer).

For example, two generations of Perodua Myvi hatchbacks were clones of the Daihatsu Boon model.

But now Perodua has set a course for independence.

In 2016, the Perodua Bezza sedan was released, created on the basis of the licensed Axia hatchback, and the third-generation five-door Myvi became the next step.

So far, this is not a completely independent design: the power units are still produced under a Japanese license, but the platform of the previous model has been finalized and consists of 70% original components, and the body and interior at Perodua have been designed from scratch for the first time!

The new hatchback is noticeably larger than the previous Myvi: the length has grown by 205 mm (up to 3895 mm), and the wheelbase - by 60 mm, up to 2500 mm. Trunk volume - from 277 to 832 liters.

There are no revelations in the design, Perodua Myvi is a typical Asian small car.

Chassis - with semi-independent rear suspension, four-cylinder Toyota engines 1. 3 (94 hp) and 1. 5 (102 hp) have a Dual VVT-i phase change system, gearboxes - five-speed mechanic transmission (only for the basic version) or well-deserved four-speed automatic transmission.

Already in the initial configuration, Myvi has four airbags, ESP, a keyless entry system, audio-system, an engine start button, rear parking sensors and power accessories.

An interesting feature: the climate control system with air conditioning and push-button control is devoid of automatic mode here, but it has a memory function for two operating modes.

But the steering wheel is adjustable only in height.

Of the options - security curtains, "leather" interior, media system, rear view camera and even an automatic braking system.
