Car enthusiasts who are interested in the global car market do not need to find out which country the Jaguar brand has.

It is not a secret for them that the assembly of these cars is carried out at factories in the UK.

They, in turn, are affiliates of the Ford concern.

However, there are facts in the history of the biography of the Jaguar that may still be unknown to those who have become interested in this car recently.

The company was founded in 1925.

But at first it was called SS, produced sidecars for motorcycles.

The company presented the first cars at an exhibition in London in 1931.

They are highly appreciated by consumers and professionals.

In 1940, the Jaguar SS100 received the title of the best classic sports model.

After the WW2, the name of the company changed, due to the fact that the abbreviation consisting of two "S" caused negative associations.

The company began to bear the name Jaguar.

In the 1950s, the company introduced several new Jaguar models and entered the American market.

Cooperation with the famous manufacturer Daimler provided the car with a more luxurious design and an increased level of comfort.

In the category of cars of a prestigious class, the car took pride of place along with such models as Rolls-Royce and Ferrari.

In the 70-90s, Jaguar replenished the world market with several models, and in 2000, a representative of the sports class of Jaguar models took part in Formula 1 races.

The company became a subsidiary of Ford Motor in 1989.

Jaguar is currently owned by the Indian concern Tata Motors.

One plant for the assembly of Jaguars opened 4 years ago in the city of Pune in India.

But so far, only Land Rover is being produced here.

The concern plans to build a branch in China.

When these factories start production, consumers will have to wonder where the Jaguar is made.
